Pros: Everything! This place is faultless, and Babette, the host is amazing. She is a fountain of useful information, breakfast was sublime, the rooms are exquisite and its just a lovely house. Definitely one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

Stunning and stylish, could have stayed for a week

A lovely place to stay and retreat to after Amsterdam sightseeing.

Pros: We absolutely loved our stay here, we were visiting Amsterdam but wanted somewhere away from the noise etc to retreat to in the evening. It’s 2 minutes walk to the bus stop for a quick and easy transfer to the city. It’s a historic building restored and decorated beautifully. The room was big (another advantage over similar priced rooms in the city) really comfortable with space to relax, kettle, fridge. Breakfast was good and our host Babette very welcoming. The town is very sweet with several places to eat and we would have spent more time there, and in the Fortuna Spinosa’s garden, in better weather. We’d definitely come back, whether visiting Amsterdam or surrounding towns.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the Fortuna Spinoza. The building is truly impressive, and you can see in every detail how much care and love went into the renovation and the interior design of both the building and the rooms. Babette is a fantastic host, and we almost felt at home. The breakfast was excellent, beautifully prepared with great attention to detail and very tasty. We will definitely come back - it is a very special experience to be able to stay there.

Very grand B&B

Pros: Lovely quiet location, Babette the owner was very friendly and she has decorated this old property to a very high standard. Breakfast was very good.

Cons: Steep stairs would be a challenge for older or infirm customers. More of a beautiful bed and breakfast than a hotel but I would definitely stay here again if coming to the Monickendam area.

Truly enchanting, cannot fault it in anyway, wish we stayed longer.
