Brilliant. Will definitely stay again. Great hotel, fantastic staff

Pros: Well…. What can we say other than this was a fantastic find. On booking I mentioned we were arriving to celebrate a birthday. The staff had decorated the room and left a birthday card. The hotel itself was immaculate, friendly staff and all round brilliant value for money. Will 1000% visit again. Thank you grand hotel downstairs for a fantastic stay

Pros: Clean, spacious room, excellent bed, decent price and the location is quite nice but of a walk from most things but still a great location

Cons: The bar in the shower was too low and the doors were heavy

Amazing amazing amazing

Pros: I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff are, they were excellent. They helped me out with everything I needed and were quick to respond to my emails.

Cons: The only, and I mean only issue we had was the walls in the suite we booked were either very thin or our neighbours were very loud because when trying to go to sleep or simply just lying down we could hear them talking.

Pros: The penthouse terrace room had a fantastic view of the city. A real highlight was the bathroom—when the doors were fully open, you could see the city skyline while relaxing in the bath. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower pressure was great with the handheld shower (though weaker with the rainfall and bath shower). The location was ideal: quiet but still close to the city. Having Netflix on the TV was a nice bonus. Overall, the terrace and the view were definitely the standout features of this room.

Cons: While the bath was a nice feature, it wasn’t very private with outside door open, as neighbours on the left side whilst on their terrace could see in. The glass panels on the terrace needed a proper clean, and the curtain nets were dirty at the bottom. There was also a noticeable electrical whirring sound from the sockets when a charger was plugged in and the bathroom mirror light was on. On check-out, the cleaner rushed us out just minutes after the stated time. We were already ready to leave and simply double-checking we had everything. Given the price we paid for the room and how tidy we left it, this didn’t feel like a great end to the stay.

Cons: Like all properties in Amsterdam, a bit pricey, but accommodated of family of 4 comfortably. The bathroom didn’t have any hair conditioner, but did have generous amounts of soap…
