Great stay

Pros: Friendly & informative staff set in a historical building full of character. Within walking distance of several museums.

Cons: Spiral staircase.

Pros: We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and it was our first time here. The receptionist who welcomed us was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. She made us feel comfortable right away, explained everything clearly, and the check-in experience was truly one of the nicest parts of our stay. Breakfast was also very good and nicely served. We especially liked that after breakfast you can still help yourself to juice, water, tea, or whatever you would like, which was a great extra touch. In the room, we also had tea and coffee available, which we really appreciated as an added bonus and extra quality detail. The location was also quite good — everything was close and easy to reach. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We would gladly come back again ourselves!

Cons: Unfortunately, my experience was not fully satisfactory. The check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM, but it actually started at 4 PM, which was inconvenient. In addition, the cleanliness of the room was below expectations. There was noticeable dust, and the corners and overall room were not properly cleaned. Cleanliness is a very important factor for me, so this was disappointing, especially considering the property has many positive reviews. I hope the management will pay more attention to this in the future.

Great location, price/quality balance needs some attention.

Pros: I booked Canal hotel last minute to attend d a professional event nearby. The room was small but convenient and the bathroom was awesome.

Cons: The bed however was not up to the expected level. Felt a bit like a sofa bed of ikea. For this price range it should be a point of attention.

Nice break, good location, next to busy road , little noisy at night but expected

Pros: Good general location, easy reach to restaurants, attractions and subway 5 mins away

Cons: Could do with upgrading to smart tvs, Double room normally means double bed, but was 2 singles pushed together with double topper, so middle could sink, but made best of it.

Excellent stay! A place to come back in A'dam :-)

Pros: Our stay was lovely, and the hotel exceeded our expectations: beautiful room and very nice view, quiet yet central location, excellent service and treatment from the staff and an (unexpected cozy) area for the happy hour. We will be back!

Cons: Nothing negative to point out - as in other comments, just bear in mind that this is a typical dutch building with no lift. For us, not a problem at all.

Good value quirky hotel, nice location.

Pros: Good location, just a short walk to the Rijksmuseum and handy for the show we saw at the Carre Theatre.. Breakfast was good, room and bathroom were good. The happy hour with free drinks was a nice touch. There's a small terrace where you can sit by the canal.

Cons: The bedroom was very hot and it was not possible to open the window to allow fresh air in to cool it down. The stairs are really steep (but I knew this beforehand). The lighting in the room and bathroom needs to be more flexible. Bathroom lights were too bright with no low-light option. Light switches were confusing. Other guests were noisy going up and down the stairs.
