Pros: Amazing staff, tremendous breakfast, lovely spa and peaceful stay.

Pros: We got stranded in Amsterdam during bad weather and chose this hotel because it’s quite close to Schiphol Airport. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and gave great advice during the travel disruption. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. The standard room was surprisingly spacious, with a huge bathtub and a walk-in shower.

Pros: Great position, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast.

Cons: The possibility of having 2 different type of pillows would be nice and also a welcome bottle of water could be a nice gift to have.

Pros: The service and the room layout is very satisfying, and also the room service as well. I love the washing room design!

Cons: Ventilation system kept making sound during the whole stay. At the beinging, I was not planning to stay at this hotel that long because I checked in very late and had a flight at 7 am. But it did make sounds every several minutes as the wind blows. Everything else is SO GOOD! This is the only thing I felt uncomfortable with, and the room number was 765. For customers, just try to avoid this room number unless the hotel solves this problem.

Would visit again and will look out for more of their hotels. 20 minute walk to Haarlem centre

Pros: Secure storage for our bicycles accessible using our room key. Food was excellent (we had breakfast and dinner all 3 days we stayed). We used gym facilities which were adequate and sauna/steam rooms which were excellent. The room was unusual in that you could open a large door window - rare on a 5th floor building. This was appreciated as the room could become stuffy.

Cons: The hotel employ many young staff which is to be commended. On the very busy Saturday night however they did not appear to be well supported and service suffered with dishes and tables not being cleared. Senior managers were not visible.

Definately stay in Haarlem as compared to Amsterdam, more relaxed , cheaper accommodatio and only 1r

Pros: Room was great, breakfast, we only had it in the hotel once as we like to visit other places for a late breakfast during our travels. But the b/f we had was well worth the money. Have place Van Der Valk hotels on my preferred hotels as a result of the 8 night stay. Like the 24 hr coffee & tea lounge for residents
