A really charming little hotel

Pros: I really loved this hotel. It's very characterful - it obviously used to be a very grand Nineteenth Century town-house, and most of the original decorations are still there. The staff place candles on the first few steps of the staircase - a really nice touch. There are two lounges, one on each side of the entrance, and each has a lovely chandelier, and again, they put candles on every table. Everything about the place is quaint and charming. The staff are excellent as well. And it's very good value for what I paid. The next time I go to Haarlem, it will be my first choice.

Pros: I had a lovely stay and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend it to everyone.

A really good place to stay located at the heart of Haarlem.

Pros: The stay overall was good, thankfully the stuff made me check in earlier than scheduled and, considering the ad weather outside, this was for sure a good point. The room was OK, quite refurbished-modern kind of room on the 2nd floor with a window facing down the church's back. If it wasn't for the bad weather, I'm sure this view would have been much more intriguing and somehow fascinating. Bathroom was OK, clean, which is what I consider priority, the shower was clean and there was enough room to stand when inside the box. coffee machine and kettle with plenty of coffee&tea flavours available (at no charges). The bed mattress was decent, that's just due to my back which usually requires an hard-type of mattress (like orthopedic ones) which was not the case but, again, that's my personal need which I understand most of the hotel around the world does not have as complimentary service: in short, if you like soft-type of bed mattress, then, this is the one for you.

Cons: The only aspect which I didn't like a lot was the TV, which was placed on the far-right side of the room with no chances to move the TV screen anywhere close to the centre of the room. In other words, if you lie down on the bed and want to watch some TV, you must always look on the right-side which is definitely NOT good for the neck and back. There's plenty of room on the centre of the wall right next to the bathroom door, i'd really suggest placing the TV there in the future.

Good hotel for Haarlem city break

Pros: Nice situation. Very elegant building. Friendly, helpful staff. Good sized room and bed. Cleaning and room service excellent. Underfloor bathroom heating was excellent. Fresh towels as needed.

Cons: Small points, but extractor fan in bathroom broken and window sash cords missing, so extremely difficult to open window for ventilation. Rather dim lamps. Laminate flooring rather stark- a rug or a carpeted area would be pleasant.

We plan to return!

Pros: Friendly staff, great location. Definitely recommend the breakfast which was very good value.

ML is Marvellous ! Old hotel, modernised. Very friendly. Great location.

Pros: Really enjoyable stay. Couldn't be better. It's an old building, fully modernised. It still has the antique character. Location is great: beside the Old Church in the old town, so lots of sights within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and assisted me with some technical issues on tablet, plugs. It really felt like a 'home from home'. The breakfast is continental and very good; and served to you (not buffet) in the dining room.

Cons: The room (23) was good and comfortable but quite dark: it is large with one window at one end. Other rooms have more light from two or more windows, so do ask for one of them !

Excellent location with amazing breakfast!

Pros: Location Atmosphere Food High ceilings Aircon Very clean

Cons: I had a beautiful view but it was a little noisy from the bars downstairs. But I stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night. Sunday was absolutely fine.

Pros: Right in the middle of Haarlem and able to walk everywhere. Easy taxi ride to airport. Nice rooms with good facilities.

Cons: Rooms that face the square are a bit noisy.

Pros: Wonderful location, really friendly staff and plenty of nice touches in the room - cosmetics, bedding, coffee-maker and kettle. Also very clean. It's a fantastic hotel
