Beautiful, unique and friendly

Pros: Great location and a beautiful hotel and such friendly welcoming helpful staff.

Cons: My only criticism is we had a ground floor room and it was noisy at times as right by the main entrance and got disturbed by guests coming in late occasionally and occasionally by noise outside and by staff making coffee/breakfast in the morning as reception area/kitchen was just down the corridor so I would have a room higher up hotel next time

Pros: Beautiful hotel and amazing service by the staff. The breakfast in bed is one of the best breakfasts i had!

We spent a few wonderful days at the hotel for our honeymoon. We loved every second and were delighted with the service.

Pros: The decor, the intimacy of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The bath in the room was a highlight as was the double shower.

Cons: Lack of storage space for clothes if staying for more than a few days in the Cornelius Drebbel room.

Brilliant hotel, would definitely stay again

Pros: Absolutely stunning. Breakfast brought to you in your room. Loved the basement spa area

Charming small hotel that makes it feel like you’re in the heart of luxury

Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel. A really unique proposition with no bar or restaurant, every effort has been made to make the rooms incredibly comfortable and luxurious - and tempting you out into the winding streets of Amsterdam. The staff are all incredible, couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful.

Cons: Getting up the stairs will take some getting used to, and no bar to relax in is a bit frustrating. But otherwise, just lovely.

A perfect bijou treat for a special occasion

Pros: What a gem and a treat! Unique and special- this is in a class of its own. I loved the antiquities and specimens. Canal view was delightful and the restoration of this old building is top notch.

Cons: There’s no communal dining room or bar. But space is v tight so understandable . And reception gave you drinks in a little courtyard

Luxurious rest and wellnes

Pros: Amazing style and atmosphere in the property. You feel like a Victorian era noble being showered in luxury.

Best hotel I’ve been to with amazing views and perfect location

Pros: Location was excellent right on the canal. 5-10 min walk to amazing shops cocktail bars and restaurants.

Cons: Nothing it was perfect

Absolutely amazing.. interesting rooms, excellent breakfast.

Pros: The location, the room, the breakfast, the staff we can’t fault it. 3rd time visiting and looking forward to coming back.

Pros: A beautiful themed room dedicated to Boerhaave with reference to his medical and botanical achievements including a full size skeleton made from surgical instruments! The room had private garden area with seating, a copper bathtub as well as a separate shower room. Breakfast was served in the room and the staff were excellent.
