Well located quirky boutique hotel

Pros: Great location, quirky little boutique hotel. Rooms are well designed if a little small (it does make it a little challenging if you need to open and unpack two suitcases)

Cons: Stairs are quite steep but there is a lift. Although in a great spot in can get noisy so air plugs are a must. Electronic email check in system didn’t work for us but this wasn’t really a huge issue

Great place and location don’t be put off

Pros: Great hotel with nice clean themed rooms. Nice touch in the wine cellar to receive a free bottle of wine. Kris on reception very helpful Great location.

Cons: Opposite a smoking cafe and watching someone throwing up when you walk out the door wasn’t great but it is Amsterdam after all

Pros: Absolutely perfect location everywhere you want within 20-30 mins walk, 7 to Central Station, lovely welcoming staff, funky and cosy rooms, just all around perfect stay at a very good price, we will definitely be coming back again in the future

Centrally located

Pros: The room was very nicely decorated and spacious compared to other rooms in Amsterdam. It was super clean, with lots of warm water. The location was perfect, just in the heart of the city centre. The breakfast was at the hotel nearby and quite decent. Big bonus points for the locker that could fit an entire laptop, the mini fridge, and the coffee machine.

Cons: The pillows were giagantic. You could not sleep with your back straight. It wasn't warm enough in the room. You would set the temperature higher but would only get more of the not-warm air. And the setting was managed centrally. The hair dryer was quite worn out.

Pros: The location was excellent. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was 5 star quality. The purpose of the stay was to celebrate a special family event and the arrangements to prepare a special treat was amazing.

Good location but not compelling enough to warrant a repeat stay

Pros: Location was good. Receptionist was friendly. Beds were comfy.

Cons: Room was very squeezy for 3 pax, photos look bigger than in person. Breakfast was at a sister property and not in the same building. Sister property receptionist wasn’t friendly and refused to help us contact Highland House reception when we needed help (already provided feedback to hotel)

Great boutique hotel in a central location.

Pros: Great location & wonderful staff. Kris on reception was super helpful. We had 3 nights here after a 14 day cruise so we had lots of luggage. I wrote to request assistance with this & we were allocated the Music room which we could access by lift. Kris also stored 1 large case for our stay.

Cons: Wasn’t keen on the open bathroom in our room (Music room). This could be difficult if you were 2 friends sharing. (Maybe other rooms don’t have this…) Tip - there is not a lot of storage in the rooms so packing cubes are very useful.
