Excellent stay in Amsterdam would highly recommend!
Pros: We were in a medium sized room on the first floor. Room was perfect for what we needed, clean spacious and the hotels location in the Jordan canals district so beautiful, quiet and central so we were able to walk everywhere really. Will definitely be back!
Cons: We were ok but if you have any issues with stairs ensure you book on the bottom floor as the stairs are quite steep :)

Friendly staff, great location, good value
Pros: This hotel situated in 3 adjacent historic canal houses is in a fabulous central location, with a great view of a canal and bridge along a quiet street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice touch those free drink vouchers ๐ The reception/bar/breakfast area looks warm and inviting. The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Big cheer for those sturdy clothes hooks on the bathroom door! Climbing those steep old typical Dutch stairs and carrying our luggage to our room on the 3rd floor certainly kept us in good shape, and helped burn those calories we consumed at the breakfast buffet.
Cons: The room and other communal areas would benefit from a little makeover. At first glance it all looks funky, but a lot of features and details look a little tired. Perhaps itโs time to replace that cabinet with the rusty edges above the sink. There was no table or shelf close to a plug socket to plug in the kettle to make ourselves a cup of tea. In fact there was no place at all to safely plug in the kettle other than on the floor.

Pros: Nice location, staff, style of the hotel, comfortable beds, and OK breakfast
Cons: bathroom sounds isolation, you could hear every flush of the toilet in the building. I guess it's the historical building.

Comfortable bed, amazing staff
Pros: Had a delayed flight which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Amsterdam late at night. Had to find a hotel after midnight, and luckily there was room at Max Brown Hotel. It was easy to find, central and also at the same time in a calm area. We appreciated in particular the staff, they were accommodating, helpful and super nice to us. We even got treated to some of the best waffles we've ever had in the morning, along with some tea! We would without a doubt stay here if we went back to Amsterdam.

Super cute, perfect for romantic getaway
Pros: Amazing location, very close to shops, restaurants, and tram stops! Super cute hotel, it was the best spot for a romantic getaway with my husband for a few days. The attic room was quiet, and the style was very unique. Speedy wi-fi, good tv, hot water, heating in the room, everything worked perfectly (and we were grateful because it was very cold outside). We are very happy that we booked here, a quick walk away from the centre of the city and the train station!
Cons: I can't fault the hotel for this, it's an issue in the country, because the houses were build centuries ago, the stairs inside are very narrow and steep, which makes it hard for people with physical disabilities to climb up and down. But this applies to the whole city and beyond, so it's not the fault of the hotel. Just be informed when you're booking, that if you have a dissability you need to be careful! (Or if you'll have large and heavy luggage, it will be a nightmare to get them up the stairs).

Pros: The staff were welcoming and inviting. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The room was quirk and fun with comfy beds and a hot shower with plenty of room.
Cons: The stairs! We had heavy luggage and the property doesn't have an elevator. We were happy to stay in traditional accomodations so didn't really take the shine off our stay, but we should have requested a room on the first floor as dutch staircases go up sharply and are quite narrow.
