Hotel Alexander

Great central location with a few minor drawbacks

Pros: Hotel Alexander is ideally located for anyone who wants to stay in the city centre while still enjoying a quieter street at night. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Vondelpark and Leidseplein, where you’ll find numerous tram and bus connections. The airport bus also stops nearby, which makes getting to and from the airport very convenient. For Amsterdam standards, the room was generously sized, clean and stylishly furnished, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. There were a few small signs of wear and tear – some chipped paint here and there – and the bathroom was slightly older with limited space for toiletries. However, this is quite typical for older Amsterdam townhouses and did not significantly affect our overall comfort.

Cons: What we liked less was the location of our room. It was only a few steps away from the reception and directly opposite the luggage storage area. Although there are signs in the hallway asking guests to keep noise levels down, unfortunately not everyone – including staff at times – adhered to this, which was quite disturbing at night.

Over all, we had a great stay - will definitely book again :)

Pros: The hotel is located near the Vondelpark at the heart of the city. You can reach any major cite/location within 5-10min by bus or tram. The staff were incredibly attentive and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. We arrived on a frosty winter day. The room was pre-heated for our arrival—very thoughtful touch. The room was comfortably decorated, also with a huge framed copy of Rembrandts “The Night Watch” hanging over our beds. How fitting!

Cons: A more inexpensive breakfast option would be a fantastic improvement.

A nice hotel in Amsterdam

Pros: The hotel staff are lovely, and the hotel is quiet. Its in a great location, only a few minutes walk to the tram stop. Its good value for money. The room was a good size with a nice view.

Cons: If you have twin beds, they are very narrow. The room was quite hot, but you can fully open the window. At night its a little noisy outside, which is to be expected as you are quite central.

Pros: The location of the hotel is truly fantastic; being within walking distance of everywhere was a huge advantage for us. The cleanliness of the rooms was quite satisfactory, and we felt right at home. We would like to thank the entire team for being so helpful and solution-oriented throughout our stay, especially Alperen, who truly made our holiday better with his great attitude. We will definitely choose this place again and recommend it to all our friends!

Pros: The location is great, near the center but in a quiet street. The staff is very friendly.

Cons: My single room was quite narrow. At the ceiling at the bathroom was very low. I was in the too flow.

Pros: Great location, beds were confortable and the terrace is nice addition

Cons: The bathroom could use more utilities but it works for 3 days (although I would recommend to bring at least your own shampoo and conditioner)

Pros: Great stay! The hotel is very well located, close to major attractions and public transport. The staff were extremely warm, friendly, and always helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely stay

Pros: We had a great time in this hotel. The staff is lovely and very helpful. The room was super clean, like the rest of the hotel. The location is great, we did everything by walking. I recommend 100% 👍

Great stay, would happily stay there again if visiting Amsterdam

Pros: Good location, staff were really helpful on check in and happy for us to leave luggage there whilst waiting for our train home. Hotel room was clean and had all the essentials

Cons: Very minor, but there are no hot drink facilities within the room and you are not allowed to take up cups/mugs from downstairs coffee machine.

Pros: Second time I stayed here and it was perfect…very clean, super friendly staff, super comfy bed, great location and good free coffee haha Will stay here again, for sure!
