Hotel Damsquare

Pros: Great location rooms all freshly decorated clean and friendly staff.

As a frequent traveller to Amsterdam. I would stay here again if my room is on the first floor.

Pros: The location. It’s easy to go everywhere from here

Cons: No lift. Narrow spiral-ish stairs to go to your room is a nightmare. Had to take breaks with a suitcase.

Comfortable stay in central location.

Pros: Room only booking (no breakfast option offered). Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in (even compared to Tokyo!!) but nicely renovated and comfortable enough for a short stay. Renovations in progress so stairway was a mess due to work in progress. No lift, common for Amsterdam, and third floor provided a bit of a workout each time!! Great location just off Dam Square.

Cons: I wonder if prices will increase when renovations are complete…..

Fun and comfortable

Pros: The location was absolutely brilliant right within the centre of the city with all you need in arms length. The facilities and the room was great and the staff were a delight. Would definitely recommend for people who want to see everything the city has to offer

Cons: No complaints other than it was slightly noisy however you are in Amsterdam city center so if your looking for a quiet place your in the wrong city

Pros: The room was newly renovated very modern very nice and clean very warm too, the bathroom is freezing and and very small but very clean and nice the staff are very very friendly and helpful location is perfect will definitely recommend and return

Cons: No stairs ! So be ready to to hike to your lovely room in the perfect location

Pros: Location is perfect, right beside everything. Room was clean , the staff all very friendly and beds comfortable. A lovely hot shower.

Pros: The location is great ! Only a few mins from the train station and right in the heart of dam square , they have a room to store your belongings if your room isn’t ready , which is super helpful , the lady at reception was very helpful ,

Cons: This place has no lifts , and we were on the 3rd floor so bare that in mind , when booking ,

Pros: Very clean hotel in a prime location couldn’t fault staff, has everything you need for a short stay

Cons: there are two separate buildings to this hotel, we stayed in the adjacent property about 20m from the main reception and unfortunately, we dealt with rowdy guests at night time, constant noise or blasting music, running up and down the stairs all night as there is no elevator, and banging on doors. In fairness we never told reception about this, but i’ve had previous negative experiences in hotels abroad with loud and unruly guests beside us so it was very unsettling, considering how small the hotel is and that the stairs were directly outside our hotel room door. Because this building is separate from the reception there was nobody there to monitor this kind of thing, which would be the only negative to this hotel.
