Pros: the property was well kept and pleasant to stay in. all standard housing amenities were available to us, and explained by the owner.
Cons: the location is not very accessible via public transport, though this is more of an individual issue as we were visiting Amsterdam frequently.

Delightful
Pros: A delightful property in a quiet rural area. The appartment had all the necessary facilities. A warm welcome from the host Astrid. It should be noted that your own transport is necessary to get about as there is limited public transport in the immediate vicinity. 'Langewijk' was a perfect base for our cycling to the nearby settlements of Edam, Amsterdam, Alkmaar etc.
Cons: No dislikes, suggested improvements: - provide a welcome pack of local foods (even if chargeable) - for wet weather days, have books, parlour games etc - details of food delivery services (groceries, takeaways)

Simple. clean, comfortable and quiet - excellent host - plenty of wildlife to keep you amused
Pros: This is a self catering facility - The accomodation we had was a loft, consisting of a washroom / shower, bedroom and living area with plenty of space and a small but adequate kitchenette - and a stair top space for storage. I can't fault it - what I needed was there and what I didn't need wasn't. The bedroom was clean, simple and comfortable, the whole set up was wonderful.
Cons: Nothing the host could do anout it - that's a steep set of stairs up to the loft - not really for the unsteady on their feet - and we had a HUGE thunderstorm whilst we were there which gave the internal electrics a seizure and reset all the Tv systems... but nothing that can't be lived with and no fault of the hosts

Pros: That's a great place to stay if you want to visit the region! The house is beautiful and sparkly clean. The kitchen is greatly equipped with everything you need during your stay for several days. We traveled with our 3-year-old son and appreciated the safety gate because the stairs are pretty steep.

Nice stay in a beautiful country place
Pros: It is a country place with two very close houses and we were 8 people, 2 adults and two girls/boys per house.There are many animal farms around and it is close to the picturesque villages of Volendam and Edam and to the island of Marken. The house is a few km from Zaanse Schans and about 30 km from Amsterdam. The hosts are friendly and the house is comfortable and provided with a fully equipped kitchen.
Cons: The house is very close to a water channel and there are a lot of mosquitos in the open spaces outside the houses. However, all the windows are provided with mosquitos nets and we had no problems inside the houses.

Quiet, restful location, within easy reach of Amsterdam and nearby charming town of Edam
Pros: Friendly owner, lovely quiet location, well located near a town for getting a bus to Amsterdam, and interesting landscapes around. Apartment was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Cons: All was fine.

Pros: The scenery was exceptional and the fresh air from the windows was great. Very friendly host. Overall a great stay, just a few minor issues.
Cons: The commute to the closest bus stop was about 25 minutes, so it was a bit difficult getting into town. You definitely need a bike or some form of transport for a longer stay. Lots of spiders above the entrance, which would be nice to get cleaned. Linen didn't fit the duvet and there were two duvets for the double bed (with one pillow each). Extra hidden costs which should have been stated in the description.

The perfect place to relax in an idyllic setting
Pros: We have fond memories of staying in this lovely holiday home, run by a pair of friendly hosts. The place is located in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but is a good starting point for car trips to the surrounding cities (Amsterdam, Edam, Alkmaar) and bike trips. The house is very comfortable and tastefully furnished, and the rural surroundings - beautiful and idyllic.
