Cosy comfortable flat in quiet neighbourhood near city centre

Pros: The flat is comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could need, in a quiet neighbourhood only 5-10 minutes walk from central Leiden. All the applicances work well, and the bed is comfortable. We last stayed here in January and the owners have done a few upgrades that make the property noticeably cosier.

Cons: The bathroom is very small, with a sink of the size you normally would find in the guest toilet, not a main toilet. Too small to brush your teeth over. However, my suggestion last winter that more shelving in the bathroom would help has been taken on board, which is nice. We did notice the curtain in the bedroom has been changed to one that does not do as good a job keeping the cold out, and it has tears along the bottom. The previous curtain was very good, but presumably got damaged and had to be replaced.

Enjoyed our stay in Leiden.

Pros: Excellent location just a 10 minute walk from the rail/ bus station and local supermarkets. It is situated in a quiet street but there may be more noise at weekends. The property was just right for our 4 night stay in Leiden.

Cons: The sink in the bathroom is too small.

Clean, comfortable flat in quiet neighbourhood, an easy walk from Leiden central.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Poelgeestreet very much. It's a lovely clean modern flat on the ground floor in a quiet neighbourhood. Kitchen is well equipped. Washing machine works well. Good WiFi. We found the bed comfortable and really appreciated the black out curtains over the south-facing bedroom windows. Communications with Monica were excellent, with clear instructions for accessing the door key in the lockbox and a reminder about checkout procedure the day before. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Cons: The only niggle we had was the size of the bathroom - it's really small, with nowhere to stash toiletries. There's a narrow glass shelf under the mirror - but that shelf makes it pretty much impossible to clean/brush your teeth over the tiny sink. We suggest the situation would be improved by installing shelves or cabinets on the walls above and/or either side of the toilet - along with rails to drape damp towels for re-use. (We ended up draping towels over the bathroom and bedroom doors, which was less than ideal.) The other thing we noticed is that the electrical sockets are not always where you want them, i.e. next to dining table and next to beds. There are however extension cables in the shelf unit underneath the television, so thank you to Monica for providing a solution! We understand the flat is being refurbished in coming days so these issues may be addressed before the next guests arrive.

Near all amenities and comfortable

Pros: Well appointed, short walk from town centre. We were bike touring and could get those in the flat.

Cons: Would have been nice to have more coffee pods!

Pleasant apartment stay in Leiden.

Pros: Spacious, clean & comfortable apartment. Everything you need for self catering and catching up on laundry when on the road. Handy to centre and station. Lovely quiet location. Excellent communication from host

Cons: A little tricky to find when walking from the station! Great to have a washing machine but would have appreciated some washing powder.

Cozy and clean appartment close to the train station and city centre

Pros: It is a very cozy and clean apartment, close to the train station as well as to the city centre. The apartment is very clean and has many facilities. Especially, I appreciated free tee and coffee. Also, it was great to have a washing machine and a well equipped kitchen. Ideal for several days stay. The host Monica is very helpful.

Excellent stay in beautiful Leiden

Pros: Quick easy walk from train station . Ground level flat with separate bedroom with ensuite ( tiny ) Combined large lounge kitchen dining with small setting in outside space which would only suit smokers Excellent underfloor heating , well equipped with washing machine dishwasher and lots of kitchen utensils stove microwave ( no stove ) and fridge , bed is a bit soft for our liking and would have preferred a couple of extra pillows to choose from one was too low and flat but overall excellent stay and Leiden is a beautiful little town with regular train to Amsterdam .

Cons: Oversized bathroom sink in an otherwise reasonable ensuite

Would love to stay again. It was so nice to stay in a home not a hotel. Very convenient, clean and comfortable!

Pros: The heated floors , the good heating, the comfortable bed , the washing machine, a good hot shower , microwave and dishwasher . The closeness to the station, we could easily walk there.

I would rent this apartment again if I would find myself again in Leiden.

Pros: It is actually about renting an apartment on the ground floor, which has a bedroom and a central room, which also includes a kitchen. The apartment includes most of the appliances required for daily living. The location is excellent, within minutes of cycling to anywhere significant in Leiden. During the time I stayed in the apartment, I did not experience any environmental noise or any other hazard. This is a residential neighborhood. The apartment owners were available and answered every question I had efficiently and quickly. It is important to remember that by renting the apartment, you lose the human connection with other tourists, which you can expect in a normal hotel.

Cons: The only negative thing about the apartment is the size of the shower room and the toilet, because it is really cramped. It has everything you need and I (average size) got used to the limited space very quickly and this fact did not bother me.
