Hotel De Munck was built in 1727 where it served as a captain’s residence, we have retained its historical charm throughout the building. Our hotel is located in a quiet street beside the Amstel River, opposite to the Frederiksplein and 8-minute walk from Waterloo Square and Rembrandt Square. All of the guest rooms are contemporarily furnished with private shower and toilet. We are conveniently located to the Van Gogh Museum, Rai Congress, Koninklijk Theater Carré and the Albert Cuijp Market. During spring and summer time the cozy garden is filled with beautiful flowers. The tram stop is just around the corner, and the metro station is within a 10-minute walk. Utrechtsestraat, located nearby, offers a wide variety of shops and restaurants.

Pros: This place was great for us! Not far from the airport, close to the centre and tram stops. It was very clean and well looked after. We were checking in after the reception had closed the instructions were easy to follow and we got to our room smoothly.

Pros: Very friendly staff and a lovely clean room - very good value for money and a perfect location also right next to a supermarket which was handy and the neighbourhood was beautiful. The free coffee was also very welcomed !

Cons: I could hear the people in the room above me walking around

Perfect for a short comfortable stay

Pros: Location was on a quiet street, in a really nice neighbourhood, with a theatre, cafes and shops nearby. The after hours check in was clearly explained to me by email and it worked perfectly. The person on duty the next day was very helpful, gave me lots of advice, explained the drinks available in the reception area and booked me a taxi. My room was warm and spotlessly clean, with a kettle and safe, and there was a night-time area downstairs with coffee/tea sachets. The bedrooms are situated up a very steep circular staircase - fine for me but might be difficult for those with mobility issues or very heavy suitcases.

Cons: Nothing to dislike, but access to a water cooler would have been useful.

Wonderful hotel, perfect for a short break.

Pros: Hotel staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Stairs were very steep and narrow, in the traditional Amsterdam style. Hotel staff were very helpful and helped me with my luggage to the top floor.
