Everything was wonderful.

Pros: I really liked the small town and the location of the apartment. It was clean and cozy. Everything what we needed was there.

Pros: Close to amsterdam and a gorgeous town. Walking distance to supermarket and bus

A nicely located, practical, neat, clean and comfortable base for a family of four.

Pros: Lovely location within the old town, very close to facilities but also not far from bus stops. Enjoyed the loft room, little bit quirky. great to have two shower rooms/toilets, unusual in a two bedroom place. Large table outside to enjoy eating out when the sun shone. Exceptionally helpful host. The pictures don't really do it justice.

Cons: It might be helpful for people to know that the stairs to the loft bedroom are steep, and the master bedroom is open plan (albeit up a flight of stairs) to the living area. It was perfect for our needs though.

We traveled around to many local towns and enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam very much!

Pros: The hospitality of Harry and Astrid was exceptional! Astrid provided airport transportion upon arrival and departure along with a ride to Amsterdam Central for us to meet an early tour. She also provided us with directions to get around the area including bus, train, metro and tram numbers. She was a life saver! Having Harry on site was a plus when the TV remote needed batteries! Apartment was very clean and convenient to town.

Cons: Nothing. Everything was great!

Pros: Cozy flat, located in a calm and beautiful town. With quick access to Amsterdam. Friendly and relaxed owner. Defintely worth staying.

Excellent and memorable

Pros: Everything was up to my expectation, Harry, the owner met us on arrival, handed the key to us and provided quick introduction as to how we use the facilities within the accommodation. There was an information folder written in multiple languages covering everything including how to arrange for medical emergency service or getting a taxi. The accommodation was very clean and has everything we looked for. The village location was amazing.

A wonderful happy weekend stay.

Pros: We had a very happy stay. Harry our host was very welcoming and friendly. We each had our own room and bathroom (only one ensuite) and a sunny sitting area outside. The kitchenette had all we needed to make a meal. There is a kettle for tea and a coffee maker with pods. We felt very comfortable and would definitely go back! The town of Monnickendam is a relaxing, peaceful characterful seaside village with plenty of popular restaurants, a brilliant ice cream shop and with a supermarket close by. The public transport to Amsterdam is easy and takes about 25 minutes via a bus (not train!).

Cons: Caution regarding the upstairs room- the stairs are steep and the headroom not too high. But I found it cosy.

Beautiful location to explore Amsterdam from and also explore the local Waterland towns / villages.

Pros: Property is in the old centre of this beautiful and interesting fishing village, but is an easy bus ride into central Amsterdam. Or you can drive to the P and R to Metro in. Walking distance to restaurants and to a good sized supermarket. Our host was so helpful - we asked if there was an iron / ironing board as we were going to a wedding in Amsterdam whilst there and wanted to look smart - and he bought one specially for us.

Cons: The double bed room is a loft, up steep stairs, and its ceiling is low. Ok if you are fit but some might struggle with it. It was fine for us, and the property was so cheap compared to Amsterdam prices for four people, but so easy to get into Amsterdam from there.

Pros: The apartment is nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable. There is a fridge, stovetop and microwave, everything is clean. From the photos I thought the apartment would be dark, but it was not the case, there is lots of natural light! Perhaps the owner should submit new photos as they don't do the property justice. The little village is very pictoresque, I wish we could have stayed longer!

Cons: Wished there was a crepe pan available.

Great property

Pros: We were spending a long weekend cycling and the accommodation was spot on. We found it really comfortable and met our needs perfectly. It's at the back of the hosts main house so was really quiet but perfectly situated within a 5 min walk of a supermarket, bars and of course the canals. Had a table outside and shed for us to keep our bikes in overnight. Was also a great base for exploring places such as Edam, Hoorne and Alkmaar Would definitely recommend.

Cons: There was nothing not to like.
