Lovely

Pros: Very kind staff. Appreciated the accommodation to certain needs. Lovely short stay. Nice and quiet.

Great accomodation….

Pros: Great building, very unique, the part l stayed in was a monastery in a previous life.

Cons: The restaurant food was a bit expensive and fancy. We just wanted a nice meat/fish, potatoes and loads of veg. But it was all more unusual offerings like, ‘veal sweetbreads etc?!’ We only dined there once, which is a shame really.

Comfortable overnight stay with a truly excellent breakfast.

Pros: Quiet location in extensive grounds but close to the motorway so ideal for an overnight stop. Friendly and efficient desk staff. Comprehensive 24 hour \

Cons: No plug in bathroom sink. This seemed somewhat at odds with the strong hotel ethos of saving water! Apparently they weren't supplied. Check out was relatively early at 09.30. This was perfectly understandable (needs of a conference hotel) when explained at reception but time could have been made explicit when booked. We were, however, welcome to stay later and use all facilities in the lounge while planning the ret of the day.
