Comfortable hotel in an old setting

Pros: Wonderful old building very well kept. Clean. Lovely original old furniture to fit the building. It was also comfortable

Cons: The bed a bit too soft, pillow a bit too big, breakfast overpriced.

A very nice and cozy place in Ijmuiden

Pros: The Augusta Hotel is a very nice little hotel in Ijmuiden´s harbour near the locks and the ferry to the UK. All rooms are neatly furnished, all very quiet, breakfast is excellent, the restaurant offers a great fusion cooking experience, the bar is awesome. The personal speaks a variety of languages and is really caring and helpfull. In a nutshell: Travel into the 19th century with all the luxury of today. A very nice and cozy place!

Cons: Beware of seagulls and mews at Ijmuiden harbour! Regardless of where you park, your car will get bombed by the birds. There is a Shell filling station with wash booths a few hundred meters away (vis-a-vis from KNRM headquarters just beneath the harbour museum). You may want to wash off mews poop from your car saturdays or sundays (self service) there.

Pros: Beautiful property, very clean and helpful and friendly staff.

Cons: Arrived in the evening but there was no food to be had.

Lovely welcoming hotel

Pros: Evening meal in restaurant was lovely. Food and drink was excellent. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and room was lovely and warm for the time of year.

Pros: This was the most clean hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are very frendly.

Cons: The staff working in the breakfast need to pay more attention as we had to try to find someone to help us.

Pros: This is always my stopover for the Newcastle ferry. Clean, a bit quirky, lovely staff - the perfect stay to turn travel into a mini holiday.
