The Canalview Retreat

Loved the apartment. So beautiful we could have stayed longer. Best host.

Pros: Really spacious, light filled, beautifully renovated apartment. Well located without being in the busiest part. David was a fabulous super helpful host.

Cons: Quite steep stairs but any apartment in Amsterdam will have that.

Pros: Beautifully positioned on the canal in easy reach of the city. Host was lovely. Room feels like a home away from home.

Ideal 3-Day Stay in Amsterdam — Highly Recommended!

Pros: We stayed at Canal View Treatment in Amsterdam and it was truly the best choice for our three-day trip. The apartment is right by the canal and offers beautiful views that you can enjoy. It has all the amenities you need for a short stay — it was spotlessly clean, very well equipped, and made us feel completely at home. The location is ideal: close to the city center so you can walk everywhere, yet on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. There are supermarkets and anything else you might need just around the corner. Finally, the owners and David were extremely kind and helpful, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Amsterdam!

Fantastic location, beautiful apartment with fantastic window view of the canal.

Pros: Beautiful apartment, great location, host was very friendly and responsive. Host helped take luggage up stairs.

Cons: Very steep stairs could be tricky to navigate if not physically strong.

Great canal view stay

Pros: The location was excellent. We could walk everywhere. Loved being on the canal to experience living in a traditional house. David the host was great and carried our luggage up the 2 flights of steep stairs. We definitely would have struggled but were aware of this beforehand.

Cons: The family lives on the floors above so you could hear them walking and moving things around early in the mornings and then between 10 to 11pm also at 1am one night. The bed was quite soft which is OK if you like a soft bed. Could do with some shelves on the bathroom wall. It only has a shower, not a bath tub. We were happy to accept the above for the experience.

Spacious apartment in the best spot in Amsterdam!

Pros: The location was impeccable, especially as we had a clear view of the Pride parade from our window! We were able to walk everywhere in the city centre. It was nice to have a home-like space in the city. David was an incredible host and he stayed in touch during our entire stay.

Cons: Everything was great.

Pros: Lovely, nicely decorated, good quality apartment, light-filled & with view over canal on one side & gardens on the other. You can sit & relax at the window & watch the tour boats going by. Great location, handy for shops, food, tram. Professional host David is very friendly & helpful, proactive, carries your luggage up extremely steep staircase & keeps in touch to check how you're going, if you need anything. (The stairs are carpeted & have handrails so we didn't find them a problem.)

Cons: The bathroom is modern but 'cosy', lacking anywhere to hang towels. The shower is very good but the water runs away from the drain & tends to flood the floor. It would be helpful if there was a drying rack for hand-washing.

Great apartment for couples on a long weekend getaway to Amsterdam!

Pros: Very bright and well equipped. Host was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Fantastic apartment and the location was amazing as we were able to walk to some great restaurants.

Pros: Location was amazing as we were close to quite a lot of great restaurants within 5/10 minutes walking and it was a fantastic apartment.

Cons: Unfortunately there was a fair bit of noise quite late at night from the flat above on our last night when we had to be up at 4am.
