Inspiring, comfortable, bijou place, perfect

Pros: Host made us very welcome and was around if we needed anything. Beautiful room, well equipped, lovely view, peaceful location, easy access to city centre

Lovely canal side room with everything you need.

Pros: Lovely, pretty location and a stylish room with everything we needed. Easy to get into the centre of Amsterdam on the tram. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Cons: It was small for four of us, but we knew that in advance and it was much cheaper for us than 2 rooms at a hotel.

Would recommend

Pros: We loved how easy it was to get to the Central station (tram 26 is a 2 minute walk from the apartment and it's 14 minutes on the tramto the Central station). There were also a number of shops a 3 minute walk away and on Saturday there was a little market selling food. Marjolein was a great hostess, very responsive and very helpful. She told us about takeaway options, sent us links to attractions and public transport options , and her directions from the airport to the Central station and to the house were very easy to follow. The house really is an oasis, it's so quiet and peaceful and the view over the reeds and canal are just lovely. There was also a canoe we could have used, but we ran out of time...

Cons: Below are just observations and tips for future travellers - there is nothing we didn't like and the room was as described. We didn't remember that there was no cooker or oven, but this is noted in the description, so totally our oversight. That meant eating out for dinner three times, but wasn't a huge problem - might be worse if someone was staying a week or longer. There is a large set of French doors, which means there is no real option to keep a window open at night time or during the day when you're out. Again, not an issue for us, but might be problematic if someone was staying during the summer. The room was perfect for the two of us, but I think would be a bit cramped if there were three or more people staying (open plan, I.e., no separate bedroom). These are just observations and by no means negatives. We would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Nice view on the canal, is possible to swimm. Very quiet locality. Two supermarkets are not so long from the apartment. There we have everything, what we need. Very kindly neighbour Diane. She was amazing and helpful. She gives us a present, when we have department. I recommend this for all visitors. The tram 26 go there from Centraal Station.The way is cca 15min.

Pros: Marjolein and Jan were wonderful, helpful hosts, always available and with useful tips for exploring Amsterdam and its surroundings. The room had everything you need, the space was well-designed and allowed you to place everything you need. The location is amazing: the room opens out onto a canal where you can watch waterfowl, a supermarket is a five-minute walk away, public transport stops and stunning views of a modern, quiet residential area, located 15 minutes by tram from Amsterdam train station. The area invites frequent walks in a modern and comfortable architectural environment.

Cons: Everything was great.

Pros: Last month I stayed in this apartment. My stay there left a lot of pleasant impressions. The room is very clean, cozy, warm, with all the necessary amenities. The location is just wonderful, not far from the center and at the same time quiet and calm. The view from the window to the canal is very impressive. The owner of the apartment greeted us very warmly and affably. When I have the opportunity, I will definitely come back here again.

Pros: Beautiful location and great friendly and helpful hosts. Small but well equipped for a very comfortable short stay. Highly recommended for a couple.

Cons: Would be perfect for a couple but we were an adult and two teens and it was a bit tight. There is no space to put away luggage or any sort of wardrobe to store clothes.

We loved Room with a Few and thought it was one of the nicest properties we’ve ever stayed at.

Pros: The property was private and well setup for a family of 4, and would be even more spacious for a couple. We were able to swim from the private jetty and use the canoe. It was conveniently located for the tram and local shops - it is also close to a lovely marina and restaurants who deliver takeaway. Marjolein and Jan are lovely hosts.

Cons: Nothing.

Definitely come back

Pros: Jan is an excellent host, we really enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful, with an excellent view straight on the cannel, close to the city (15 min to Central Station).

Cons: It is a pity that you cannot cook, there is only a microwave in the kitchen.
