Basecamp Tiny House Eco-resort IJmuiden

Pros: Great location near the beach, with easy access to public transport and convenient parking. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and warm — perfect for our Christmas stay. The area is quiet and pleasantly secluded. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, tasty and well presented.

Great stay, nice location, love it!

Pros: Great location, staff was really friendly and helpful. I really liked that they have a lot of different houses. Also the cool thing is Green House, where you can sit by the fire and collect different herbs. Super dog friendly as well, our dog enjoy the place.

Cons: I think the breakfast could be a bit bigger for the offered price. And also a bed was not that comfortable, but I have issue with beds in all different places so I can't complaint a lot.

Great location near the beach

Pros: Amazing location near the beach, cozy and well-thought concept of small houses, good interaction with the stuff, parking included, tiny but well equipped houses, dogs allowed.

Cons: Would be nice to have intransparent curtains to get a bit more privacy

Citybreak by the sea 🌊

Pros: Even though I live nearby I always choose Basecamp when I need a break from the city close to nature and the sea, in a comfortable cottage, among cool guests. Perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer seaside holiday. I also appreciate the opportunity to work in the greenhouse. The girls at reception are great, always very helpful and make delicious iced coffee!

Pros: Basecamp is great, friendly and comfortable. Our tiny house did not feel tiny and we loved our holiday. Ins

Cons: The only minor issues were the shower door leaks slightly and it took me a while to work out how to use the oven as I couldn't find any instructions. However. these things did not in any way have a negative impact on our holiday. Also, the soap in the kitchen is actually for washing dishes, which I should have realised earlier.

Eco friendly, comfortable stay directly at the sea side. Great for the entire family. And on top of it, lovely staff.

Pros: The staff is exceptionally friendly. If I have had a concern they tried to meet and solve it. The location is perfect directly at the beach. Lovely concept, with a herbal garden, playground, games, eco friendly - super important. The tiny houses were cute, functionally and had everything you need. It can get loud when there’s a storm but that adds to the charm. We would go there again.

Nice place at a 2 min walk from the beach

Pros: loved the place, protected by the dunes and very friendly.

You can calm down and chill there with a nature around you.

Pros: Really clean. Great atmosphere. Helpful and nice to each other.

Good and enjoyable stay overall, only a few points could have been improved for a great stay

Pros: The location of our tiny house was perfect, we had a beautiful view over the lake, the area was very quiet and peaceful, very great welcome and checkout experience thanks to the lovely team, the beach was only a short walk away, and we were even able to see a fox right in front of our place in the evening.

Cons: Since the tiny house we booked was offering a panoramic view of the lake with the large mirror windows, we thought it was a shame that they had not been cleaned in a while (a lot cob webs and bird poop). Overall the place was quite clean, but there was some sand left in the shower, so we assumed they missed that. One pillow was nice and comfy, but the second one was very hard - it would have been good to have two nice pillows. It also seemed strange to us that we had to wash any glassware used ourselves, and that we had to take our own trash out. All those points would have been fine if we were spending 50€ a night at a cheap camping, but for almost 350€ a night, we expected a little more.

Pros: We absolutely loved staying in the tiny house which is a great size very spacious and very modern it was lovely had everything we needed there was 3 adults and a toddler, it’s just a short walk to the beach which is gorgeous we will definitely be back thanks for having us xx
