A cosy loft to return to in between city outings.

Pros: It was cosy and very central, a great launchpad for exploring Alkmaar!

Cons: The lights were all a bit dim, which made bedtime reading difficult, not a big issue though.

Great apartment in a great location

Pros: The apartment is in a great location, very central. Lots of bars/cafes and restaurants literally outside the front door. The apartment itself is great, everything you need. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Sharon met us at the apartment earlier than planned as we arrived into Alkmaar earlier than we thought which was great as we could drop of our stuff and go explore. We couldn't fault our stay and had a really great time. I would highly recommend this apartment and Alkmaar.

Group stay in Alkmaar

Pros: It’s located in the centrum of Alkmaar, next to restaurants and cafes. It fits a group of 3- 4 people perfectly. Nice and clean place.

Cons: Can get a bit noisy with the restaurants in front of the house, but with the windows close you couldn’t hear much.

Pros: Fantastic central location, spacious and well equipped apartment, perfect for a short stay. Alkmaar is a beautiful town with much of the charm of Amsterdam, but much less busy and touristy. The kitchenette was a real bonus to be able to make coffee and tea or snacks, and is very well stocked - although there are so many great bars and restaurants within a short distance anyway.

Cons: The stairs up to the apartment are quite steep, so need to take care with old or young people and getting suitcases up and down.

Pros: The location could not be better. Very spacious living room, big windows, nice view. Pleased with our stay.

Cons: It's was a bit loud during the night. There are several bars on the street, below the apartment. Ear pluggs were supplied by the host.

Pros: This definitely exceeded our expectations. The apartment was much larger than I expected, and the location was perfect. The Irish pub below serves great food and very cold beer. We will stay here again on our next trip to Alkmaar.

Stunning large apartment in old Dutch house in vibrant part of the town.

Pros: Really beautiful, large living room with view over the canal and busy street life. Very comfortable, nicely furnished and homely. Lovely spacious bathroom too with good shower . Comfortable beds and plenty of space. Really friendly help from Jess from bar as owner was away.

Cons: Stairs were narrow depth and twisty but we knew that when we booked and that is the nature of old Dutch houses. Only a single hob for cooking and no large saucepan so a bit limiting but there are plenty of places nearby to eat out.

Pros: Loved the traditional Dutch style accommodation with a touch of Ireland. Central to everything and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons: Couldn't fault anything.

Very enjoyable

Pros: Very well furnished and great utilities in a perfect location for the pubs below on the square. Staff are very friendly.

Cons: I think the property is great, just a warning that the stairs are very steep.
